Feature Spotlight: Use Hybrid Disk Option
Digital Storage Manager's new Hybrid disk options help ensure CD and DVD media created as part of archive operations remain readable on multiple operating systems. Creating hybrid media will increase the amount of space reserved on the disk for file system information, and thereby reduce the amount of space available on disk for data storage. However, Hybrid options remain the most reliable way to ensure authored media remain accessible from both Mac OS X and Windows computers. Multiple Hybrid options are available for both CD and DVD media.

Q&A with Technical Support: Sorting a Static List via MetaScript
How can MetaScript be used to sort a static list so that it can be viewed in alphabetical order?
Arrays can be used in MetaScript to generate a static list to be used in Virtual Ticket popup menu fields. A static list would be used in situations where a SQL Query will not produce the list of items because they aren't stored anywhere in the database. Keeping your list sorted in alphabetical order requires the correct MetaScript sorting parameter to keep the list sorted correctly while the list continues to grow. For an example of how to sort a static list with MetaScript, refer to Knowledge Base article 16289.

Smart Tip of the Month: Adding File Collectors to Editable Grids
The editable grid solution provides the ability to enter data in grid format and generate document type records for each grid line item. The example found in Knowledge Base article 16290 expands on earlier examples of the grid solution and adds the use of File Collection field in each row of the editable grid. For example, suppose your editable grid is used to populate all of the components of a monthly journal your company produces. Each line in the grid represents a page in the journal and includes the write-up information and images that should be used. By using the file collector as a part of the editable grid, the user can quickly fill out the contents for each page of the journal and include the images that should be used.
