Feature Spotlight: New Advanced Workflow and Scheduling
MetaCommunications recently released the first in a line of free solution libraries with a newly updated version of the Advanced Workflow and Scheduling 4.0 solution. The Advanced Workflow & Scheduling (AWS) Solution is composed of related Virtual Ticket Forms, Global Finds, Scripts, and Reports that provide for automated workflow management of production Jobs. New to AWS 4.0 is a consolidated area for the configuration of calendars, templates, activities and data structures. In addition, systems running on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 can take advantage of the numerous SQL Server Reporting Services reports which provide traffic managers with information about Production Status, Resource Allocation, and Production Timelines.

Q&A with Technical Support: Add Collaborative Users without Administrator privileges
How can collaborative users be added to Approval Manager without Administrative privileges?
As proofs are managed in Approval Manager, collaborative users may need to be added to a proof approval workflow on the fly. Allowing a proof manager the ability to freely add collaborative users without logging in as Administrator is a matter of enabling the Collaborative User Entry and Edit permission to the appropriate user group. When proof managers belong to a group with this permission, they can create a new collaborative user by using the "NEW" link, which is available at the top of the same window where collaborative users can be selected for the proof approval stages.

Smart Tip of the Month: Double-click to Edit
Beginning in Package 154.3, when a user double-clicks or right-clicks in the browser window of Virtual Ticket, they will be presented with a menu where they can choose to edit the record. Once the record is in edit mode, the same click operations will produce a menu with the option to update the record. With this feature the user does not have to use the edit and update buttons in the upper right hand corner of the browser, they can simply right-click or double-click and choose the desired action (Edit or Update). In addition, when the user utilizes this method to enter edit mode, the cursor will be placed into the field that the cursor was hovering over at the time of double-click or right-click action.
