Feature Spotlight: Extracting PowerPoint Notes
The ability to extract the text of a PowerPoint file has existed since the inception of the PowerPoint thumbnailing feature in Virtual Ticket. In the most recent release, Virtual Ticket and Digital Storage Manager have been enhanced to extract the notes which the presentation author has entered into the notes field on each frame. The extracted frame notes are placed into the Text Content field and this provides users with the ability to locate the desired PowerPoint file based on any note the author included with the PowerPoint.

Q&A with Technical Support: Getting Keywords from XMP
How can a Virtual Ticket or Digital Storage Manager Find be renamed?
Many different file types contain user defined metadata, referred to as XMP or IPTC data, which has been saved to the file by the creating application. In many cases, this metadata contains keyword information that the user has applied to the file prior to saving. Virtual Ticket and Digital Storage Manager can capture this keyword information for many file types including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and many more. Knowledge Base article 16282 provides instructions for enabling this functionality.

Smart Tip of the Month: Commenting on a PDF with Adobe Reader
Approval Manager users who utilize Adobe Reader to review proofs can annotate within a PDF proof as long as the proof manager has enabled the PDF to be commented on with Adobe Reader. To allow Adobe Reader users to annotate, the proof manager should apply the "Enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader" option, typically found in the Document menu of Acrobat Professional 7, prior to saving the file and uploading it to Approval Manger. When an Adobe Reader user reviews a proof saved with this option, they will be able to make comments to the PDF. Once they have finished commenting, they simply upload the reviewed PDF to Approval Manager for other reviewers to see.
