Feature Spotlight: Search Text in Word and Excel Files
With the upcoming release of Virtual Ticket 7.5, users can search for Microsoft Word and Excel files based on the text content of the files. When MS Word or Excel files are added to the database by InterSync or through the Virtual Ticket desktop client for Windows, the text content of these files is automatically extracted to the Text Content field in the database. Users can then create finds based on this field to quickly locate the corresponding Word or Excel files.

Q&A with Technical Support: Daylight Saving Time Info
Why does my Job Recorder and Time Card not record the correct time after Daylight Saving Time?
For those who have seen issues with servers keeping the correct time after the recent DST switch over, you have probably discovered that simply adjusting the time by an hour does NOT produce a desirable result. To ensure that Workgroups applications reflect the correct time, customers in countries affected by recent Daylight Saving Time changes should implement the following:
Since the Workgroups Suite relies on the date and time information from the Application Server and the server where Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed, these computers should be updated with the appropriate patches from Microsoft. Also, workstation computers (Mac OS X and Windows) should be patched to ensure that the correct time is recorded.

Smart Tip of the Month: Using Jump Links in Production Portal Queries
If you have a custom query in the MetaCommunications Workgroups Portal that you would like users to use as their standard report for locating the Jobs they are managing, you can allow users to jump from the query results to the various windows in Workgroups Portal with special jump links. Jump links can be added to the query which will produce an arrow to the outside left of the query results. When clicked, the arrow will display a list of options for jumping to the Job Recorder, Job Entry and Edit window, Job Charges or other various windows.

Additional Resources: Accounting Integration Configuration
To use Job Manager's integration with QuickBooks, MYOB, or PeachTree, it is important to ensure that account information is synchronized between the two systems. Following the prescribed naming conventions for account names and account numbers during the set up is required to ensure that data can be successfully passed from Job Manager to the desired accounting system. The Job Manager Administration Guide provides detailed instructions for setting up Job Manager to integrate with QuickBooks, MYOB and PeachTree.
