Feature Spotlight: Archiving with the Rimage Helper
Digital Storage Manager (DSM) and Virtual Ticket with DSM have a built-in integration with the Rimage line of automated disc publishing systems. These systems contain robotic hardware for loading physical media into a disc burning unit. In addition to burning discs, labels can automatically be printed to the media. The VT and DSM integration with Rimage automates the archiving of digital resources to CDs and DVDs by sending disc burning jobs to the Rimage system that include necessary file path information of the digital resources which have been archived. Also, a disk label template can be specified in the Media Profile setup so that the discs are properly labeled.

Q&A with Technical Support: Cost Center Task Assignments
Is there a report that can be used to export a list of Cost Center task assignments?
It may be necessary to export a list of tasks including the Cost Centers they are assigned to. This list of tasks can be produced with a relatively simple custom SQL query that displays the task code, task name and the cost center the task is assigned to. In addition to being able to print this list, the list can also be exported to a tab-delimited text file which can be reviewed in a third party product such as Microsoft Excel.

Smart Tip of the Month: Hard Copy Proofing Scenarios
Approval Manager can be used to manage the approval process for hard-copy proofs. When used to manage the approval process for hard-copy proofs, two basic scenarios are supported:
- Hard-Copy Proofs with reference soft proofs
- Hard-Copy Proofs without reference soft proofs
Hard-Copy Proofs with reference soft proofs
In this scenario, hard-copy proofs are distributed to all participants of the approval and review process. A soft proof file is also uploaded and managed in Approval Manager. Comments and participant scheduling is managed completely in Approval Manager. Users review the physical proof, but make their annotations in the reference soft proof. This approach removes the burden of retrieving annotated hard copy proofs from all reviewers while still providing mechanisms for reviewers to approve, annotate, and add comments to proofs.
Hard-Copy Proofs without reference soft proofs
In this process, hard-copy proofs are distributed to all participants of the approval and review process. Comments and scheduling are managed in Approval Manager, but annotations are made directly to the hard-copy proof and returned to the manager for redistribution (if required). Users still employ the standard Approval Manager process and can approve, approve with changes, or reject any proof at any stage of the workflow for which they are an assigned reviewer.

Additional Resources: Disk Burning with Rimage
Earlier in this edition we mentioned the Virtual Ticket/Digital Storage Manager integrations with the Rimage. The Rimage integration can automate your archiving process to CDs and DVDs. Below are some links to information about the integration and information about Rimage, including an example unit that could be used with this integration.
