Email Notifications
MetaCommunications Production Portal provides a method to notify new users of their login credentials and send Approval Manager Notifications through email. Email notification can be set up in the Administration Tab of the MetaCommunications Production Portal. When a new account is created, the new user will receive an email providing them with their credentials. Approval Manager users will also receive email notifications about actions they need to take in proof approval processes and reminders to perform various Approval Manager tasks.

What are the Proofer File Type Associations in Approval Manager?
Approval Manager is a proof approval workflow management tool, not a technical proofing tool. By configuring the Proofer File Type Associations, the administrator can identify the types of files that are commonly proofed and tell Approval Manager which proofing software to use when those file types are incorporated in an Approval Manager workflow. Approval Manager integrates with Adobe Acrobat products and Kodak RealTimeProof Partner, so that proofs can be opened within the corresponding technical proofing tool from within Approval Manager. Depending on the technical proofing tool used, comments, text edits, annotations, notes, and approval statuses can automatically be synced with Approval Manager.

Reports with SQL Reporting Services
A new solution using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services provides an integrated approach to executing and viewing reports from within Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket 7.0. SQL Reporting Services is a free add-on to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and has the ability to generate scheduled and ad-hoc reports. The reports generated from SQL Server Reporting Services can be invoked through a MetaScript in Virtual Ticket and streamed back to the workstation of the user running the report in one of several different formats, including PDF and Excel.
