Feature Spotlight
New Virtual Ticket Administrator Alignment Tools
The recent release of Virtual Ticket Administrator includes new alignment tools to make creating forms easier. Contained in the new Selection Properties palette of the Form Editor, these tools allow for the alignment of fields along a selection of axes, such as aligning to the left or right sides, aligning to the horizontal or vertical middle of the selected fields, and the aligning to the tops or bottoms of the selected fields. In addition, multiple fields can be selected in one operation and increased or decreased in size by changing the size of one of the selected fields, while maintaining their alignment.
Q&A with Technical Support
How can I implement navigation tabs in Virtual Ticket forms?
The MetaScript function OpenURI can provide ways to easily navigate the system. One way to navigate between many different forms in the system is to create a navigation bar across the top of your forms with buttons containing OpenURI functions. By making the button for the current form larger, you can give the appearance of different form tabs. Knowledge Base article 16232 includes screen shots and a set of example forms for making navigation bars and implementing tabbed navigation.

Smart Tip of the Month
Associator Example - Document type records
Associating digital resources with document type records can be a simple task if you know your needs and have your naming conventions defined and applied consistently in your file system. Suppose you need to associate a file in the Scans director y of your job folder on the file server with the appropriately named Scan record attached to the Job in Virtual Ticket. For this example, we will assume that the scan document type record in Virtual Ticket is named identically to the file in the Scans director y in the job folder. This association will require creating several roles in the Associator: a role for identifying the Job folder and the job number, a role for identifying the Scan director y and a role for identifying the file inside the Scans folder . Knowledge Base article 16231 contains details of implementing this type of associator configuration.

Additional Resources
Install a Sample Database
Virtual Ticket and Job Manager sample databases contain not only examples of forms and data, but also contain examples of many different MetaScript functions, Workflow Scheduling templates, and Associator rules. With the Install Expert.exe file, a server administrator can install a sample database in just a few minutes and allow you to explore these examples. Knowledge Base article 16233 contains a listing of helpful examples.
