Feature Spotlight
Import Picture Support for JPEGs
The Form Editor for the Mac OS X Virtual Ticket Administrator Client now supports importing JPEGs. This allows greater flexibility for placing images or logos onto your Virtual Ticket forms. To import a JPEG into a Virtual Ticket form, first use the Box Tool to draw a box on your form. Then, select Import Picture from the File menu and navigate to and select the desired JPEG to place into the selected box. Imported JPEGs will be automatically scaled to fit the size of the box drawn on the form.
Q&A with Technical Support
What does the "Use QuickTime to thumbnail PICT files" checkbox in the InterSync MetaData Service do?
Some Macintosh applications save a PICT preview along with their files and this preview can be used to create thumbnail previews in Virtual Ticket. When the "Use QuickTime to thumbnail PICT files" checkbox is selected in the thumbnailing properties of the MetaCommunications MetaData Service, InterSync will use QuickTime as an additional tool for producing thumbnails in the Virtual Ticket database of files with PICT previews. While not required, it may be useful to enable this functionality if you find that InterSync is unable to provide thumbnail previews for files with a PICT preview. For the feature to work, QuickTime must be installed on the Windows Server running InterSync. QuickTime is available for download free of charge from the Apple web site.

Smart Tip of the Month
Duplicating a Form in Virtual Ticket Administrator
The need may arise to create several variations of the same form in Virtual Ticket Administrator. All of the forms have similar fields with a few minor differences between them. To duplicate your forms in a quick and efficient manner perform the following steps:
- Use the Library Export functionality of Virtual Ticket Administrator to export the form you wish to duplicate.
- Attempt to import the form. At the dialog, choose to import the form and rename the newly imported form.
- Repeat the import process for as many duplicate forms as needed.

ODBC Connectivity to UPS WorldShip
Last month we featured a product used by a Virtual Ticket user to integrate with his shipping systems. Recently, another Virtual Ticket user integrated with the UPS WorldShip system. The connection to Virtual Ticket from WorldShip is established via an ODBC data source. Once the connection is established, the desired database tables and columns containing the shipping address information can be selected along with an ID field that allows for choosing the address listed for a job, customer or other database object. Knowledge Base article 16229 contains an example shipping address form which could be used with the UPS WorldShip system.
