Q&A with Technical Support
Is there a way to jump from Virtual Ticket to Job Manager?
Jumping from Job Manager to Virtual Ticket has been standard functionality for several years. If you are using the MetaCommunications Production Portal, the OpenURI functionality can be used to jump directly to any Internet address. Consequently, by using OpenURI, you can provide Virtual Ticket users with the ability to jump to Job Manager Production Portal windows with the click of a button. The example in Knowledge Base article 16218 demonstrates how these buttons should be configured.

Smart Tip of the Month
Job Close and Re-Open Permissions
Job Manager Administrators may wish to prevent users from closing or re-opening jobs in the system. In a normal configuration, these permissions are not available but through the use of a SQL trigger, users can be prevented from performing these actions. The example in Knowledge Base article 16219 provides a SQL trigger and instructions on how to effectively prevent users from closing or re-opening jobs in the Job Manager database.
