MetaCommunications Releases Virtual Ticket™ 6.1
New release of the Virtual Ticket production platform brings tighter integration with Mac OS X interface, additional hardware support, and numerous other features and enhancements.
IOWA CITY, IAMarch 28, 2005. Today MetaCommunications, Inc. released a major upgrade to its Virtual Ticket production platform for printing, publishing and creative development. Available immediately, Virtual Ticket 6.1 introduces user-configurable appearance options to deliver a more tightly integrated solution with Apple Computer’s “Panther” (10.3) version of the Mac OS X operating system. Virtual Ticket 6.1 also introduces new features for the Mac OS X native client application, including the ability to view digital assets in list mode, new hardware support for wheel-driven mouse devices, and font smoothing in controls outside of Virtual Ticket forms.
“Virtual Ticket 6.1 builds on the native Mac OS X application that was originally introduced with Virtual Ticket 6.0,” says Robert T. Long, Executive Vice President of MetaCommunications. “The new appearance enhancements in particular give Virtual Ticket an improved look and feel. We believe this will give our customers a more efficient user experience on the Mac OS X environment.”
Virtual Ticket 6.1 is a powerful integrated solution that enables organizations to centralize information, eliminate paper job tickets, manage production files, traffic and schedule jobs, notify and alert users to changes in production information, manage digital assets and automatically archive files. Used as a stand-alone system or seamlessly integrated with other management and enterprise software, Virtual Ticket is the only product available today that combines electronic job ticketing, workflow, digital asset management, and archiving in one scalable and customizable production platform.
Availability
Virtual Ticket 6.1 is available immediately either directly from MetaCommunications or through certified partners worldwide, with costs based on the number of concurrent users licensed. The Virtual Ticket 6.1 base package starts at $999 (U.S.). Additional concurrent user license packs are available separately, starting at $659 (U.S.) for a single-user license. Upgrades to Virtual Ticket 6.1 are available free of charge to existing customers with a valid Software Assurance & Support agreement.
